Ruma Rooftop Pty Ltd is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis. Set in the heart of New Farm, Ruma is a rooftop escape shaped by tropical warmth and effortless style. The restaurant offers quality-led dining using fresh, seasonal produce and a vibrant, considered cocktail and wine list.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in accordance with venue standards
- Assisting in the development and execution of seasonal menus
- Managing mise en place and daily kitchen preparation
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and WHS compliance
- Monitoring stock rotation, storage, and inventory control
- Working efficiently during high-volume service periods
- Assisting in training junior kitchen staff where required
- Maintaining consistency in food presentation and portion control
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Relevant trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, organised, and professionally presented
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Employment Details
- Full-time permanent position
- Annual salary package of $77,000-83,000 plus Superannuation
