Willow Tree Early Learning Centre is seeking a passionate, experienced and motivated Assistant Director / 2IC to join our leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early childhood professional who is passionate about high-quality education and care, supporting educators, building strong relationships with families and contributing to the overall success of our service.
About the Role
As the Assistant Director / 2IC, you will work closely alongside the Centre Director to support the day-to-day operations of the service. You will play an important role in leading and mentoring educators, supporting the implementation of high-quality educational programs and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and service policies.
You will step into the role of Responsible Person and support the overall management of the service when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Centre Director with the daily operations of the service
- Lead, guide and mentor educators to maintain a positive and professional team culture
- Assist with staff rostering, ratio requirements and daily staffing needs
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators and the local community
- Support the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), Education and Care Services National Regulations and relevant legislation
- Support and contribute to the service's Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
- Assist with enrolments, family enquiries and tours
- Support the management of documentation, policies and procedures
- Assist with performance management, staff development and professional learning
- Promote a safe, inclusive and positive environment for children, families and educators
- Take on the responsibilities of the Centre Director when required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Previous experience in a leadership, 2IC, Assistant Director or senior educator role
- A strong understanding of the NQF, NQS, EYLF and relevant regulations
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- A genuine passion for supporting and developing educators
- Strong relationship-building skills with children, families and the wider community
- The ability to confidently support the daily operations of an early learning service
- A current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualifications
- A Child Protection qualification or willingness to obtain one
