The role
At ALS, our safety team is passionate about providing practical guidance, technical advice, and tailored support. We partner with our site leadership team to achieve workable outcomes for our employees and the business.
We are looking for a passionate and driven Senior HSE Advisor to support and strengthen our safety culture, aligned with our core principle: We are Safe.
Based in Malaga , this full-time role (Monday to Friday) involves regular travel to sites across Perth, Kalgoorlie and Adelaide.
Working closely with the Regional HSE Manager, you will play a key role in influencing safety outcomes across the business.
As a positive influence to drive the ALS safety culture, your responsibilities will include the following:
Support leaders and employees to ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations
Identify risks and implement corrective actions
Assist with injury prevention and management
Deliver and coordinate HSE training
Develop and maintain risk assessments
Monitor hazards, near misses, and incidents
Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure safety systems and records are accurate and compliant
Collaborate with the national HSE team
Champion HSE applications (e.g. Safety Culture App, Hazard Reporting App, Incident Reporting App)

Formal qualifications (Cert IV WHS minimum)
Minimum 3 years of work experience in an established HSE role
Confidence in your knowledge and ability, which helps you quickly build rapport and trust at all levels of the organisation
Passionate, enthusiastic, and goal-driven
Experience in incident investigations, risk assessments and auditing
Organised, level-headed and have a common-sense approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficiency in Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong computer and numeracy skills are a must
