The opportunity
The Power Projects team is vastly growing; we’re now seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of assigned projects in a safe, timely, cost effective and innovative manner. The successful incumbent can envision themselves attending to duties such as:
What you’ll do
- Drive end-to-end delivery of substation, transmission and BESS projects
- Lead tender submissions through to execution and project close-out
- Own scope, design coordination and construction methodology across complex power assets
- Develop and manage WBS, project schedules, budgets and cost forecasts
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards
- Champion Zero Harm and ensure compliance with Downer standards and governance
- Provide accurate, timely financial reporting on all direct and indirect costs
Deliver consistent, high-quality reporting within required timeframes

What we’re looking for
- Diploma qualification in Project Management and Engineering Degree is preferred
- AIPM Accreditation CPPM or equivalent
- Demonstrated capability across end-to-end project management on complex power infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to deliver against contractual and financial targets in live project environments
- Solid understanding of AS/NZ/ISO standards and relevant electrical industry legislation
- Ability to travel and attend site
- Advanced capability with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
- Strong expertise in, financial management, budgeting, risk identification, mitigation and control, subcontract & procurement management
Proven capability to lead project teams while contributing within a collaborative environment
