Position Overview
We are currently seeking skilled and experienced Drill Bit & Tool Technician (Saw Maker and Repairer) to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and sharpening of industrial cutting tools and saw components used in drilling and mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct inspections of drill bits and cutting tools to assess wear, damage, and serviceability.
· Resharpen and recondition drill bits and related cutting tools in accordance with industry and company standards.
· Operate and maintain grinding and sharpening equipment safely and efficiently to restore tool performance.
· Ensure drill bits and cutting tools are correctly sharpened to maintain optimal drilling efficiency and prevent equipment failure.
· Maintain detailed records of tool condition, sharpening schedules, usage history, and maintenance activities.
· Analyse tool performance issues and provide technical feedback and improvement recommendations to internal teams.
· Liaise with customers to assess tool performance issues and recommend appropriate sharpening or repair solutions.
Requirements:
· English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.0 in each band or higher.
· At least one year of relevant industry experience.
· Certificate III in Engineering (or higher) or a related engineering qualification.
· Current manual driver's licence.
· Strong practical skills and demonstrated ability to use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Forklift ticket (desirable)
