COUNT ROOM ATTENDANT
The Count Room Attendant is a position of trust responsible for safeguarding Club assets through the accurate, secure and timely processing of all cash transactions. The role is responsible for the operation of the Count Room and Club Vault, including the reconciliation of gaming and operational cash, preparation of floats, maintenance of accurate financial records and compliance with all Club policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the Count Room Team Leader, Finance Team and Duty Managers, the Count Room Attendant contributes to the integrity of the Club's financial controls and supports the efficient operation of all gaming, hospitality and retail services.
The position requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, integrity and attention to detail while maintaining strict adherence to security and cash handling procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
- Count, reconcile and balance the Club Vault daily.
- Reconcile daily transactions including gaming machines, Cash Redemption Terminals (CRTs), Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), TAB and Keno.
- Balance and reconcile all cash transactions in accordance with approved procedures and timeframes.
- Prepare and balance departmental tills and operational floats.
- Issue cash for the Change Counter and departmental requirements.
- Maintain appropriate cash levels within the Vault to support operational requirements.
- Collect, reconcile and process voucher purchases.
- Verify the integrity of cash counts and reconciliations through established checking processes.
- Investigate and report cash discrepancies immediately to the Count Room Team Leader or Duty Manager.
- Complete accurate daily reconciliation reports.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Perform data entry accurately and within required timeframes.
- Ensure all Count Room documentation is completed, maintained and filed correctly.
- Assist with maintaining cash supplies required for daily Club operations.
- Support the Duty Manager with operational requirements as directed.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements when required.
- Monitor and report equipment issues affecting Count Room operations.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and security.
- Work collaboratively with the Count Room Team Leader and Finance Team.
- Maintain positive and professional working relationships with all departments.
- Communicate issues, discrepancies and operational concerns promptly and professionally.
- Contribute to a positive, professional and productive team environment.
- Comply with all Club policies, procedures and Work Health and Safety requirements.
- Undertake any other duties within the employee's skills, competence and level of responsibility as reasonably directed.
SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to all Club security procedures relating to cash handling, vault access and Count Room operations.
- Maintain dual-control procedures where required for cash movements and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with all internal control procedures and delegated authorities.
- Immediately report any suspected fraud, theft, security breach or irregularity to the Count Room Team Leader, Duty Manager or relevant Manager.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial, employee and member information.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and Club policies.
- Participate in internal and external audits as required.
- Maintain secure storage and handling of keys, access devices and security equipment.
- Ensure all cash handling procedures comply with Club policies and financial controls.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) competency card.
- Current NSW Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) competency card.
- Demonstrated experience handling and reconciling large volumes of cash in a licensed club, gaming, hospitality, banking, retail or similar environment.
- Understanding of gaming operations including CRTs, ATMs, TAB and Keno.
- Proven ability to perform accurate reconciliations with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Sound computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and electronic reconciliation systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory National Police Check and Credit Check.
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends, public holidays and rostered shifts.
