A Field Service technician is responsible for providing on-site technical support, operations, maintenance, and repair services for our client. This is a site-based role. The site is located at Dubbo, NSW. An ideal candidate should be based in this area or willing to relocate. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, performing operations incl. routine maintenance, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. System Operations:
-
Perform day-to-day activities as per our client’s operational processes.

Switching of LV/MV/HV equipment
-
Following lockout/tag out procedures
2. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
-
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and systems.
-
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
-
Provide technical support and guidance to clients on-site.
3. Installation and Commissioning:
-
Install and commission new equipment and systems according to specifications.
-
Conduct testing and calibration to ensure proper functionality.
4. Preventive Maintenance:
-
Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
-
Identify potential issues and take proactive measures to prevent breakdowns.
-
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and service reports.
5. Customer Interaction:
-
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their technical needs and concerns.

Provide timely updates on service progress and any necessary follow-up actions.
-
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional and courteous service.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
-
Maintain detailed and accurate records of service activities, including work orders, service reports, and parts used.

Provide feedback and recommendations to improve service processes and procedures.

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) is an added advantage.
7. Health and Safety:

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines during service activities.

Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments on-site.
-
Report any safety incidents or hazards to the Field Service Manager.
What You Bring
Education:
-
High school diploma, GED, Engineering, or technical vocational diploma, combined with prior field service or equivalent related experience, is preferred.

An Australian Electrical license is a must requirement.
Experience:
-
10+ years of experience in field service or a related technical role.
Product experience preferred
-
Generators, motors, Synchronous Condensers.
-
Switching Products (Gas/Air Insulated Switch Gears)
-
Transformers
-
Starting device SFC
-
ELRA Exciter
-
AC/DC Distribution Panels (Low and Medium Voltage)
-
Auxiliary Systems (e.g. Cooling Systems, Lubrication Systems)
-
Control & Protection Systems (preferably Siemens/Siemens Energy SIMATIC product family, e.g. PCS7, TDC, T3000 and the like)
-
Experience with rotating equipment will be considered an added advantage.
Skills:

Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and service management software.
Certifications:
