Full-time or part-time | Goolwa, South Australia
Imagine beginning your morning with a drive along the Fleurieu Peninsula, arriving at a clinic where the team knows one another, clients genuinely value their local vet, and no two days look quite the same.
After work, the coast is yours. You might wander along the beach, explore nearby wineries, spend the afternoon in Victor Harbor or simply enjoy the kind of space and slower pace that can be difficult to find closer to the city.
At Vets First Riverport, this could be your everyday.
Located in Goolwa, just 18 kilometres from Victor Harbor, Riverport Vet Hospital cares for pets and families across the Fleurieu Peninsula.
This is a beautiful part of South Australia to call home: coastal, community-minded and surrounded by beaches, walking trails, local produce and plenty to explore. It offers the relaxed lifestyle of a regional town while still keeping Adelaide within reach.
We know this opportunity may mean making a move. For the right veterinarian, we are open to discussing intrastate relocation assistance to help make that transition easier. Visa sponsorship and a relocation allowance may also be available to eligible interstate or international candidates.
You arrive to a warm welcome from a close-knit team who genuinely want you to succeed.
Throughout the day, you are surrounded by experienced veterinarians who enjoy sharing their knowledge, talking through cases and helping others build confidence. Mentoring here is not simply something included in an advertisement — it is part of how the team works.
You may be working through an interesting medical case, developing your surgical skills or learning alongside colleagues with advanced capabilities, including orthopedic surgery. There is experience around you to learn from, but also space to bring your own interests, ideas and strengths to the clinic.
As a fear-free clinic, we are thoughtful about the experience of every patient who walks through our doors. Compassionate handling, considered care and positive patient experiences are important to the way we practice medicine.
Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to become a valued veterinarian within a community that truly needs you.
We are open to welcoming either:
-
One full-time veterinarian, or
-
Two part-time veterinarians
We understand that the right role looks different for everyone. Whether you are seeking a full-time sea change, a part-time position that leaves room for life outside work, or greater flexibility in your week, we would love to explore what could work for you and the clinic.

You are a veterinarian who cares deeply about providing thoughtful, high-quality patient care and building trusted relationships with clients.
Ideally, you will have at least two years of veterinary experience and be comfortable contributing within a collaborative team. You do not need to arrive knowing everything - curiosity, initiative and a genuine willingness to continue developing are what matter most.
You will also hold, or be eligible to obtain, veterinary registration in South Australia.
Sometimes the right career move is about more than the role itself. It is about finding a team where you feel supported, a community where your work makes a genuine difference and a place where life outside the clinic feels just as fulfilling.
If you have been considering a coastal move, or simply wondering whether there might be a veterinary role that offers something different - we would love to start a conversation.
