Why this role is different
As the Organisational Development & Workforce Capability Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping how we develop our people, strengthen organisational capability and support high performance across Council.
You'll join a progressive Organisational Development Team that partners closely with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Talent Management colleagues to deliver integrated, people-centred solutions across the employee lifecycle.
Working with leaders across Council, you'll design and deliver practical, evidence-based initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, workforce capability, employee experience and organisational effectiveness. You'll lead a specialist team of Learning Advisors and contribute to strategic People & Culture priorities that create lasting organisational impact.
What you'll be doing
- Lead organisation-wide organisational development, leadership, learning and workforce capability initiatives.
- Partner with leaders to build capability, improve employee experience and support organisational performance.
- Shape and continuously improve frameworks, programs and approaches that help our people and teams thrive.
- Lead and develop a small specialist team while fostering collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Use data, insights and evidence-based practice to inform decision-making and drive meaningful outcomes.
This role is part of Banyule’s Leadership Network – you’ll have opportunities to grow your skills and experience of leadership in a Local Government context and develop your skills as an organisational leader beyond your role-based expertise.
About you
You are a collaborative and values-driven organisational development professional who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery.
You may have experience in organisational development, workforce capability, leadership development, learning and development, employee experience, culture or a related field.
Most importantly, you bring:

- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Curiosity, innovation and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience contributing to, coordinating or leading organisational initiatives that improve capability, culture, learning or employee experience

- A permanent full-time opportunity with a monthly RDO and generous leave entitlements
- Salary from $113,252.44 to $126,351.47 (dependent on experience) per annum plus super
