Job Summary
The Logistics Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimising the movement of goods, materials, and resources to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective logistics operations. The role involves transport planning, inventory coordination, scheduling, and collaboration with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage logistics and transportation plans.
Coordinate delivery schedules, routes, and freight movements.
Monitor shipments and ensure deliveries are completed on time.
Liaise with suppliers, freight carriers, warehouses, and customers.
Optimise transport routes and schedules to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Coordinate inventory movements between warehouses, suppliers, and customers.
Monitor logistics performance, freight costs, and delivery KPIs.
Identify and resolve transportation, scheduling, and supply chain issues.
Prepare logistics reports, forecasts, and performance analysis.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, orders, and delivery schedules.
Ensure logistics activities comply with Australian transport, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and supply chain operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Transport, or a related field.
Previous experience in logistics planning, transport coordination, supply chain, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of logistics operations, transportation, and inventory processes.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics or ERP systems.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with transport management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), or ERP platforms.
Pay: $72,000.00 per year
