About the Role:
The Sterilising Services section is embedded within the Infrastructure and Health Support Services Division and plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of safe patient care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilisation and distribution of Reusable Medical Devices (RMDs) in accordance with relevant standards, policies and procedures. This role requires a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Sterilising Services Health Service Officer (HSO) positions are broad banded and provide clear career progression opportunities. Upon successful completion of a Certificate III in Sterilising Services (HLT37015), a minimum of three years' experience working in a sterilising unit, and relevant competency requirements, HSO Level 3 employees may progress to HSO Level 4. Upon successful completion of a Certificate IV in Sterilising Services (HLT47015) or Certificate IV in Leadership and Management (BSB40215), together with relevant competency and performance requirements, HSO Level 4 employees may progress to HSO Level 5.
