A dynamic leadership role overseeing horticulture operations, contract management, and high-level reporting.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the delivery of high-quality horticulture services across the Parliamentary precinct. In this role, you will champion continuous improvement, lead a dedicated team, and manage end-to-end contract delivery - from procurement and compliance to budget reporting and project management.
More specifically, you will:

Lead and develop a blended team of contractors and in-house staff, setting priorities, monitoring performance, and fostering a strong safety culture.

Manage contracts and projects end-to-end, overseeing vendor engagement, compliance, permits, hazard reporting, and performance management to ensure seamless, safe delivery.

Drive financial accountability by monitoring expenditure against approved budgets, providing periodic reporting, and contributing strategic advice on forecasting and resource allocation.
What you'll bring
-
Extensive hands-on horticulture experience (across gardens, turf, machinery, and irrigation).

Proven experience in end-to-end project and contract management.

Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing both internal teams and external contractors.

A strong commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS) practices in an outdoor operational environment.

A relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture or a related field (highly desirable).
