Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef / Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation, and supporting the smooth running of kitchen operations. This role requires a strong focus on culinary expertise, team leadership, and adherence to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and supervise the preparation and cooking of meals in a dining or catering environment.
- Develop and implement menus in line with customer expectations and seasonal availability.
- Estimate food and labour costs, maintain stock control, and order supplies as required.
- Monitor and maintain the quality, consistency, and presentation of dishes from preparation through to service.
- Collaborate with managers, dietary specialists, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Demonstrate and train staff in cooking methods, food preparation techniques, and kitchen procedures.
- Prepare and cook meals to a high standard, ensuring timely service.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with recruiting, supervising, and developing kitchen team members where applicable.
- Oversee appropriate food storage, freezing, and preservation techniques as required.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (highly regarded).
- Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a busy kitchen environment.
- Experience in menu planning, cost control, and team supervision preferred.
Pay: From $76,500.00 per year
