I DESERVE CARE PTY LTD is looking for an experienced Residential Care Officer for its supported accommodation and residential care services in Edmonson Park, NSW. On a full-time basis, you will be part of a multidisciplinary and well-supported team.
Title: Residential Care Officer – Full-time position
Salary: $96,000 per annum
Work Location: In person
We are looking for applicants who demonstrate the following:
Requirements
- Relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Community Services, Disability, Welfare or a related field
- At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in residential care, supported accommodation, group homes or disability services
- Experience supporting residents with complex physical, emotional or behavioural needs
- Strong knowledge of person-centred care and individual support plans
- Good communication, observation and report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and public holidays where required
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, where required
- Australian driver licence preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide care, supervision and day-to-day support to residents living in group housing or supported accommodation
- Assist residents with daily routines, independent living skills and personal development
- Implement individual care, behaviour support and service plans
- Monitor residents’ physical, emotional and behavioural wellbeing
- Support residents to participate in social, recreational, educational and community activities
- Promote residents’ dignity, privacy, rights, independence and personal choice
- Respond appropriately to incidents, challenging behaviours and emergency situations
- Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports and resident records
- Identify changes in residents’ needs and report concerns to supervisors or relevant professionals
- Liaise with families, guardians, healthcare professionals and community service providers
- Maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive residential environment
- Participate in staff meetings, training and continuous service improvement
- Work closely with support workers, healthcare professionals and management to provide consistent care
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure residents’ support requirements are met
