About the role:
The Director of Health Sector Funding and Budgets is responsible for leading the strategic management of health sector funding and investment to improve the efficiency, financial sustainability and value from government investment in Victoria's health system.
The role is responsible for developing and implementing funding strategies, budget frameworks and resource allocation models governing more than $32 billion in annual health service funding. It ensures funding is aligned to service demand, government priorities and health outcomes, and supports transparent, equitable and evidence-based allocation decisions across Victoria's public health system.

About you:
- Leads complex stakeholder engagement, budget negotiations and funding reform initiatives that directly influence health service financial sustainability and whole-of-government budget outcomes.
- Works across different agencies, levels of government and the private and not-for-profit sectors to gain insight and information around future trends impacting the Victorian Public Sector.
- Articulates and drives implementation of strategies that align with organisational vision and purpose.
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in health, accounting, commerce, economics, political science, public administration or public policy.
- Knowledge of the Victorian public hospital operations, and the impact of government funding, policy and reform on operations.
