Job Description
The Building Services Technician is responsible for undertaking and overseeing all assigned maintenance tasks within the hospital. This role ensures the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service that complies with legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines, and approved hospital budgets. You will play a key part in maintaining our facilities, ensuring they meet the relevant Australian Standards associated with private hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake assigned maintenance tasks as required.

Ensure the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service, adhering to legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines, and approved hospital budgets.

Direct and manage the work of maintenance contractors and employees, ensuring their competency and technical knowledge align with required tasks.

Ensure all assigned tasks are completed and meet defined service levels.

Maintain all forms of maintenance records for the Hospital, keeping them fully up to date.

Achieve Key Performance Indicators within the functions of the department.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the relevant Australian Standards associated with the maintenance of a private hospital facility.

Participate in an after-hours on-call service rotation.
About You
We are seeking a proactive and skilled professional who is passionate about maintaining high-quality facilities, with the following essential experience and attributes:

Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, ideally within a hospital environment.

Proven experience in a supervisory maintenance role.
-
A willingness to work across various trades areas within your skill levels.
-
Proven experience in managing external contractors effectively.
-
An interest in assisting people and the ability to work co-operatively with others.
-
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Sound oral and written communication, and strong computer literacy skills.
-
Demonstrated excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks effectively.
-
Experience in, and ongoing commitment to, Quality Improvement principles.
-
Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements.
Desirable Skills
-
Current unrestricted Drivers’ Licence.
-
Relevant Trades qualification.
