Your opportunity
Join Mission Australia as a senior recovery case worker, within our Community Living Supports (CLS), where culture, community and connection are at the centre of recovery. CLS supports people living with mental health challenges to build independence, strengthen daily living skills and reconnect with their communities through flexible, person-centered support.
This is a unique opportunity to walk alongside participants on their recovery journey, drawing on cultural knowledge, lived understanding and strong community ties to deliver culturally safe, strengths-based support.
In this role, you will help individuals achieve meaningful outcomes while contributing to a service that recognises and values the resilience, identity and holistic wellbeing of Aboriginal people. As a Senior Recovery Case Worker, you will also contribute to program improvement, facilitate client-focused group activities, support reporting and compliance requirements, and provide mentoring and guidance to team members. This role requires initiative, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively with complexity and changing priorities.
One is a secondment cover ending on 2nd October 2026 and one is maternity leave cover ending on 9th July 2027.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

Deliver high-quality, person-centered case management for clients with complex needs.

Conduct client assessments, intake processes, case planning, and reviews.

Provide outreach support and assist clients with daily living skills, independence, and recovery goals.

Develop strong partnerships with mental health services, community organisations, families, and other stakeholders.

Support complex case management, risk assessments, and coordinated care planning.

Contribute to service development, continuous improvement, reporting, and quality outcomes.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to colleagues where required.
Requirements for success
-
Relevant qualifications and experience in community services, mental health, or a related field.

Experience supporting clients with complex needs.

Strong knowledge of recovery frameworks, mental health systems, and psychosocial rehabilitation.

Excellent communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and navigate complex situations.

Strong administration skills and confidence using client management systems and Microsoft Office
