DEECA are looking for a high-performing Senior Policy Officer to join the Sector Bushfire Policy team in the Emergency Management and Office of Bushfire Risk Management branch to develop meaningful risk management targets and strategic policy for fuel reduction and bushfire management.
You will develop a range of products to senior executives and governance forums, lead priority policy projects, coordinate sector engagement, and help support a coordinated, effective and resilient bushfire risk management program for Victoria. You will join a highly motivated team of people who enjoy translating complex challenges into practical solutions and evidence-based policy.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification(s) in public policy, law, natural resource or environmental management or similar is desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with bushfire risk management or emergency management is highly desirable.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 24 Months. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
