About the role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role within the JP9101 Support Services team, ensuring the successful delivery of sustainment activities that support one of Australia’s critical Defence communications capabilities.
Applying your extensive project management expertise, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects while balancing scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality and safety to achieve successful outcomes.
Leading a team of Project Managers, you’ll foster a collaborative and high-performing environment while working closely with Engineering, Commercial, Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Controls and SHEQ functions.
You’ll build trusted relationships with Defence, industry partners and internal stakeholders, oversee project governance, financial performance and supplier delivery, and drive continuous improvement through structured planning, modern delivery practices and digital tools.
Above all, you’ll ensure every project is delivered safely, responsibly and in line with Babcock’s commitment to ensuring everyone goes Home Safe Every Day.
About you
You are an experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven ability to lead complex Defence, engineering or sustainment projects in a dynamic, stakeholder-rich environment.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities, you have demonstrated success delivering projects to schedule and budget while maintaining a strong focus on governance, risk management, quality and safety.
Your ability to think strategically, analyse complex problems and influence outcomes enables you to confidently navigate competing priorities and deliver successful project outcomes.
A collaborative and empowering leader, you bring experience managing multidisciplinary teams and developing high-performing project professionals.
You communicate with confidence at all levels, build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders, and are committed to driving continuous improvement across every aspect of project delivery.

To be successful in this position you will bring:
Extensive experience managing complex projects of varying products, services and lifecycle phases.
Hold an accredited degree in Project Management.
AIPM Project Management Certification.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred experience in Defence industry.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results.
