Veterinary Emergency Care Australia operates two state-of-the-art 24/7 emergency and specialist veterinary hospitals across New South Wales, serving the Macarthur and Hills regions of Sydney. THE OPPORTUNITY
We're seeking experienced Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarians to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to build a service with us in a supportive, collaborative environment where your expertise is valued and your development is prioritised.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
-
Provide high-quality emergency and critical care across all species
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnostics, and treatment planning
- Manage acute and critically ill patients in our 24/7 hospital setting
- Collaborate with our specialist and consulting team on integrated care
- Contribute to clinical protocols and service improvement
- Mentor junior clinicians and support team development
- Participate in on-call rosters
OUR FACILITIES & EQUIPMENT

Purpose-built hospitals with:
- Onsite CT scanner with Board-certified radiologist reporting
- Digital X-ray (including dental)
- Ultrasound: POCUS and full abdominal
- Two fully equipped surgical theatres
- Five consultation rooms (dedicated dog and cat rooms)
- Onsite laboratory for rapid in-house results
- Separate dog, cat, and isolation wards
- Oxygen and active scavenging systems throughout all clinical areas
- Canine blood bank
OUR SPECIALIST TEAM
You'll work alongside and refer to an established specialist network including:

Dr Matteo Bordicchia - Small Animal Medicine, DECVIM
- Dr Mohamed Sherif — Small Animal Surgery, MANZCVS
- Cardiology Services
- Onsite Specialist Ophthalmology Services
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
-
Veterinary degree recognised by AVPB (or eligible for NSW registration)
- Minimum 2+ years post-graduation ECC experience
- Strong diagnostic skills and clinical decision-making
- Proficiency with emergency diagnostics (ultrasound, radiography)
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork
Desirable:
-
Advanced ECC qualifications (DACVECC, RCVS Cert SAC) a plus
- Experience with mechanical ventilation
- Anaesthesia experience
