At Polite Playground, we create engaging and interactive retail experiences across Australia.
We are looking for a reliable, organised, and proactive Event Leader / Team Lead to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our upcoming Christmas activation.
About the Activation
Customers will be able to purchase personalised Christmas sacks, stockings, and wrapping paper, with their own designs, names, photos, or artwork printed on site.
The Event Leader will oversee the complete operation, including the customer experience, production process, operators, equipment, materials, and communication with the client.
The Role
You will be the main link between the client, Polite Playground management, and the event operators.
Your role will be to make sure everything runs smoothly, support and manage the operators, solve problems quickly, and ensure the activation consistently operates to a high standard.
You will need to be comfortable taking ownership and responding to urgent issues when required, including outside normal operating hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the activation.
- Lead and support the event operators.
- Act as the main point of contact between the client and the team.
- Solve operational, technical, staffing, and customer issues.
- Ensure equipment, materials, and supplies are available when needed.
- Collect and deliver materials or equipment when required.
- Monitor staff attendance and performance.
- Assist with setup and pack down.
- Communicate with Polite Playground management and the client.
- Be willing to work additional hours when required.
Who We Are Looking ForEssential Requirements

- Valid Australian driver's licence – essential.
- Availability for the full 3-month contract.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Confident leading and managing a small team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Comfortable communicating directly with clients.
- Flexible and willing to work additional hours when required.
Previous experience in event management, team leadership, retail, hospitality, brand activations, logistics, or operations will be highly regarded.
Experience with sublimation or custom printing is not required. Training will be provided.

Important
This is not a standard operator role. The Event Leader will have a higher level of responsibility and will be expected to take ownership of the overall operation, manage the team, communicate with the client, and resolve problems as they arise.
A valid Australian driver's licence and full working rights in Australia are mandatory.
