We are seeking a reliable and motivated Chef Supervisor to join the Hotel Services team at our Inglewood residential aged care site on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will be working at Brightwater Inglewood; comprising 128 private rooms and located within our Brightwater Central campus.
Whilst working as our Chef Supervisor you will provide strong leadership to our Hotel Services team in the kitchen, laundry and cleaning departments. Whilst working in this rewarding role you will ensure a high-quality dining experience is provided to Brightwater’s residential aged care clients. This position is responsible for preparing, cooking and reheating a range of meals and refreshments for clients, providing guidance to Hotel Services staff and ensuring adherence to budgets and compliance with FoodSafe and health regulations.
The successful candidate will work 10am-6pm Monday to Friday each week, with a contract of 76 hours per fortnight on offer.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure diverse range of dietary meal options are available to clients
- Coordinate the timely delivery of meals to House Kitchens for meal service
- Ordering, receipt, and storage of kitchen stock (within budget), and stock audits
- Timely and accurate documentation; meeting reporting and compliance requirements
- Supervise, train and educate staff in food preparation, service, and presentation
- Maintain high standard of cleaning, hygiene and quality control, ensuring compliance to FoodSafe standards
- Safe equipment use, reporting maintenance issues as required
- Collaboratively deliver improvements and benefits in meal services such as seasonal menus and special events
- Support improvement of efficient on-site kitchen and meal service processes
Oversight and support development in all areas of Hotel Services (kitchen, cleaning and laundry)

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:
- Qualifications as a Cook with a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
- Significant experience working as a Cook or Chef
- Previous experience working a leadership role in an aged care environment - desirable
- Demonstrated experience managing a small kitchen, supervising staff and working within budgetary guidelines
- Excellent knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the practical application Food Safety Guidelines and current legislation
- Sound computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft applications
- Self-motivated and the ability to work unsupervised, as well as collaboratively
- Familiar with texture modified diets and International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) guidelines
- A satisfactory National Police Clearance that is less than one year old
