Housekeeping Supervisor (full time)
BROAD PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Contribute to the success and high standards of The Commodore Accommodation team by leading and coordinating housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety. This role is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff, managing daily operations, maintaining quality standards, and supporting a welcoming and comfortable environment for all guests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping team to ensure efficient operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently met.
- Develop and manage housekeeping schedules and staff rosters to meet operational requirements.
- Train and support housekeeping staff, ensuring adherence to procedures and performance expectations.
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, linen and guest amenities, and arrange replenishment as required.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and complaints relating to housekeeping services.
- Identify, report, and follow up on maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns.
- Ensure housekeeping equipment and storage areas are maintained in a clean, organised, and safe condition.
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, safe work practices, and company policies.
- Foster a positive, productive, and customer-focused team culture.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of housekeeping staff as required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory, management, or senior housekeeping role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Experience within a hospitality, hotel, or accommodation environment.
- Experience with staff training, rostering, and performance management.
- Knowledge of safe handling and storage of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
$70,000-$80,000 Full time
