About the Role:
The Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Quality Work in a Digital Age (QWIDA), led by Curtin University, is seeking an Industry Partnerships and Engagement Manager to build, manage and grow the Centre's network of industry, government and other partner organisations.
This is a high-profile and outward-facing role at the heart of a nationally significant research centre. You will be the primary point of contact for QWIDA's partner organisations and your responsibilities will span a broad range of engagement activities including managing the Centre's partner relationships, contributing to the QWIDA Leaders Network, co-designing and scoping high-profile events, coordinating formal partnership agreements and supporting researcher industry placements.
This foundational appointment in the Centre's first year offers a unique opportunity to shape the Centre's external engagement and partnership strategy from the ground up. Working closely with the Centre Director, Senior Program Manager and Chief Investigators across multiple universities, you will build the relationships, networks and engagement frameworks that connect QWIDA's research with the people and organisations best positioned to drive meaningful change in the quality of work across Australia.
Your New Team - ARC Centre of Excellence for Quality Work in a Digital Age
Despite growing investment in digital transformation, the potential of technology to improve the quality of work has not been fully realised. The Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Quality Work in a Digital Age (QWIDA) aims to address this challenge by bringing together leading researchers alongside industry and government partners from institutions across Australia and the globe to explore how new technologies can be integrated responsibly to create and sustain productive, inclusive and healthy work.
The Centre brings together diverse experts from social and technical disciplines across three interlinked research streams: Augmented Working, Networked Workplaces and Future-Ready Workforce. To learn more about QWIDA, please visit qwida.org.au
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the Centre Director, Senior Program Manager and Chief Investigators to align QWIDA’s partner portfolio with the Centre’s research priorities and support effective engagement with industry, government and community stakeholders.
- Manage QWIDA’s portfolio of partner organisations by acting as a key contact, maintaining accurate records of engagements, agreements and commitments, and strengthening relationships that support the Centre’s objectives.
- Identify, develop and progress partnership opportunities that support QWIDA’s strategic priorities and ARC impact requirements, working collaboratively with the Senior Program Manager, Centre Director, Executive Team and Advisory Board.
- Co-design and deliver QWIDA’s high-profile engagement events program in collaboration with the Communications, Marketing and Events Coordinator and relevant Chief Investigators.
- Coordinate the preparation, execution and ongoing management of partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding and data sharing arrangements in collaboration with Curtin’s legal and research services teams.
- Contribute to ARC reporting by coordinating partner input for progress reports, annual reports, mid-term reviews and final evaluations, including collecting evidence of partner contributions and cash and in-kind support.
- Support researcher industry placements and secondments for HDR students and early career researchers by identifying placement opportunities, coordinating agreements and managing logistics with partner organisations and the Research Operations Manager.
- Work with the Making a Difference and Design in Action teams to ensure engagement activities are aligned with research program needs and strengthen relevant partner relationships.
- Liaise with Curtin’s commercialisation teams to support the identification and progression of intellectual property, translation and impact pathways arising from Centre research.
- Monitor and report on partner portfolio activity and engagement outcomes, preparing regular updates and identifying emerging issues, risks and opportunities for consideration.
- Represent the Centre at external forums, conferences and engagement events, promoting QWIDA’s research and building connections with current and potential partners.
- Undertake other activities that are reasonable for the role and consistent with the responsibilities listed above.
