Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fifth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing, transport and health care. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 69,000 and is culturally rich with 17.4% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.
Activities in the Park Facilitator
Hourly Rate: $35.82 (plus 25% casual loading; junior rates apply)

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking enthusiastic and community minded individuals to join the Activities in the Park team as Casual Facilitators.
Now in its 15th season, Activities in the Park is a well-established program that delivers free and low-cost activities across the Greater Shepparton region, encouraging active lifestyles, social interaction, and improved health and wellbeing.
As a Facilitator, you will help create welcoming and enjoyable experiences that encourage involvement, foster a sense of belonging, and support positive wellbeing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate a range of activities for individuals, families, and groups
- Provide excellent customer service and engage positively with participants
- Assist with event set up, pack down, and equipment management
- Support the safe and effective delivery of activities
- Work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment
About You
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, reliable, and adaptable approach to work
- Interest in recreation, engagement, health, or wellbeing
- Ability to work across a seven day roster, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
- Ability to take initiative and work confidently with minimal supervision
- It is a prerequisite of this position that the incumbent holds and maintains a current:
- Working with Children Check
- First Aid Qualification (HLTAID011 including CPR or equivalent)
