Baringa Private Hospital is a 78 bed licensed hospital, (41 Medical/Rehabilitation, 23 Surgical, 12 Mental Health, 2 ICU) providing advanced surgery, interventional coronary angiography including the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, ICU, endovascular & general surgery, general medical, rehabilitation, palliative care and mental health. Baringa also has a day medical unit which caters for patients requiring chemotherapy and day intravenous therapy.
Job Description
Baringa Private Hospital is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to join our busy Medical and Rehabilitation ward, on a permanent basis with both permanent part-time and full-time hours considered.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager (Level 3 – Medical Rehabilitation Ward) and Director of Clinical Services, the successful applicant will support the Nurse Unit Manager with the ongoing management of this ward.
Key achievements in this role will include successfully building the ward with a high-performing team along with delivering safe, consistent patient-centred care. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with proven leadership skills to contribute to the delivery of outstanding patient outcomes, whilst positively impacting culture and grow their leadership abilities with Ramsay Healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:

Be accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the ward

Ensure the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes

Plan, implement and evaluate practices, processes and services in line with Ramsay Health Care standards, legislative requirements and best practice

Clinically based role (primarily afternoon shifts) with allocated supernumerary time to complete management administration tasks
About You:
While leadership or management experience is desirable, this role will also suit an experienced Registered Nurse looking to step up into a leadership position.
You will also demonstrate:
- Current AHPRA registration.

Minimum 3–5-year experience working as a Registered Nurse.

Minimum 12 months experience working as a Registered Nurse in a Medical and Rehabilitation setting (desirable).

Excellent clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.

A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage challenging situations.

Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment.

Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and professional growth
Remuneration
On offer is a base hourly rate of $70.89 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager level 1)
