The purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality multidisciplinary pathology services across Haematology, Transfusion, Chemical Pathology, Molecular Diagnostics and Urine/Fluid Microscopy while supporting continuous shift operations across Hervey Bay and Maryborough laboratories.
What you'll do
In this role you will perform and validate diagnostic testing across multiple pathology disciplines, apply scientific judgement to complex patient results, provide technical advice to clinicians and stakeholders, contribute to specimen reception and laboratory support functions, participate in quality and accreditation activities, support research and service improvement initiatives, maintain analyser and quality records, perform phlebotomy duties, and contribute to continuous shift laboratory operations across both sites.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
Holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
Has multidisciplinary pathology experience across diagnostic services
Can apply scientific judgement and problem-solving skills independently
Has experience with laboratory information systems such as AUSLAB
Has strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Can participate in continuous shift and on-call arrangements across multiple sites
