Ella is a Darwin’s award-winning contemporary restaurant, celebrated for its creativity, excellence, and culture. In 2025, Ella was awarded Best Asian Restaurant NT at the Gold Plate Awards, cementing our reputation as one of the Territory’s leading dining destinations. In 2024, we also won multiple chef hats, along with NT's best over restaurant.
Our food is Contemporary Sri Lankan cuisine, with a strong focus on local Northern Territory ingredients, vibrant Sri Lankan flavours, and a variety of cooking techniques that make our menu playful, creative, and limitless in what can be imagined.
We are currently seeking a Sous Chef and a Chef de Partie to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of new recipes.
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and workplace health and safety regulations.

About You
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Relevant qualification such as a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or an equivalent recognised culinary qualification.
- Passionate about food, flavour, and hospitality
- Curious and open to learning new cuisines and techniques
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Resilient under pressure and reliable in fast-paced service
- Committed to hard work, consistency, and delivering excellence
