The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join our supportive People Experience team. The Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) Officer plays an important role in supporting a safe, healthy and compliant workplace across Council. Working closely with leaders and employees, you’ll help deliver safety initiatives, manage risks, and contribute to wellbeing programs that create a positive and proactive workplace culture.
What you’ll do
- Support safety, wellbeing, and child safety initiatives
- Provide OHS, injury management and wellbeing advice
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections and audits
- Assist with return-to-work and injury management processes
- Maintain compliance records and reporting documentation
What you need to succeed
- OHS or related qualification
- Knowledge of OHS legislation and risk management
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience in safety, wellbeing or compliance roles
- Excellent organisation, reporting and admin skills
