Welding Supervisor — Melbourne

We're seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor for upcoming work with a well-established fabrication and manufacturing business in Melbourne.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows welding inside out and can hold a team to a standard. You'll be the person the floor looks to on process, quality and compliance.
About the role
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day welding activities across the workshop
- Review drawings and weld specifications; advise on joint design, process selection, access and sequencing
- Ensure welding complies with the relevant Australian Standards
- Conduct audits and inspections; manage non-conformance and rework
- Oversee welder qualification, WPS/WPQR documentation and traceability
- Monitor welding KPIs — quality, throughput, rework — against production targets
- Mentor and develop welders and boilermakers on the tools
About you
- Welding Supervisor Certificate to AS 2214 / AS 1796 Cert 10 or IWS (International Welding Specialist) or equivalent
- IWT or IWE highly regarded
- Minimum 5 years' experience in fabrication or manufacturing
- Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience
- Confident reading engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Sound understanding of OHS obligations and a genuine safety-first approach
