About the Role
At an exciting time to join Score’s Production Team, we are looking for an experienced
Valve Technician, who shares our passion and drive for excellence and success.
The Valve Technician will join our team and will be responsible for carrying out overhauls, tests and recertification on different types of valves and actuators as directed by the workshop team lead in line with company, HSE and Quality standards.
Score are looking for Trade Qualified Technicians with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the oil & gas, mining or other valve related industries. Applicants are required to have a strong knowledge of all valve types including manual, actuated, control and relief.
This position is Full-time, Monday to Friday, workshop hours are between 7.00am to 4.00pm.
Overtime and trips offshore or to remote sites as and when required by the client.
Your Responsibilities
As an experienced member of our Team at Score Group you’ll be required to;
- Carry out PSV overhaul and recertification.
- Strip, assess and re-build, complete in-depth inspection reports for all types of valves (Ball, Globe, Gate, Choke, Check, Butterfly, Control, Safety etc) in both workshop and site-based environments.
- Disassembly, overhaul, testing and certifying of valves and ancillary equipment
- Fault find and problem solve
- Comply with all required company and client documentation.
- Provide training to junior technicians where required
- Ensure that all work performed meets with the requirements of NATA and ISO 9001 standards
- Maintain, at all times, emphasis on safety & quality

Technical Skillset
- Precision Measurement
- Precision machining, milling, drilling and using a lathe
- Selection of tooling & Equipment
- Correct selection and use of measuring equipment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and ability to markup drawings as required
- Familiar with process plant maintenance works
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous role as a Valve Technician in a workshop environment is essential.
- Must be fully conversant with the use and operation of high-pressure testing equipment and associated measuring devices.
- Technical qualification in a mechanical discipline, (Cert III in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent).
- Forklift Licence would be advantageous, but not essential.
