This is an exciting opportunity to join the Physiotherapy Department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. This Level 3 Team Leader temporary part-time role is in the clinical area of Inpatient Rehabilitation and also includes patient groups such as neurosurgery, neurology and oncology.
What you'll be doing
The physiotherapist will provide clinical services to inpatients and/or outpatients as determined by the particular role. The physiotherapist will provide evidence based care within a multidisciplinary and family centred context, and utilise holistic physiotherapy models of care.
Participation is required in ongoing education, teaching, evidence based practice and quality improvement activities.
The Level 3 Physiotherapist will contribute at an advanced level to:
• Planning, development and evaluation of physiotherapy services.
• Development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and practice guidelines for patient care.
• Liaison with community based services relevant to the patient population.
This role will commence in Inpatient Rehabilitation and Oncology.
The Level 3 Inpatient Rehabilitation Physiotherapist will coordinate the provision of rehabilitation, neurology and oncology inpatient physiotherapy services according to Physiotherapy Department policies. This position also includes the responsibility for an orthopaedic theatre list and the Retts syndrome clinic. Close liaison with the Rehabilitation Multidisciplinary Team including the Outpatient Rehabilitation Physiotherapists is essential.

- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and AHPRA registration.
- Significant experience in relevant clinical areas including Acute Rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, and orthopaedics. This experience must be able to be applied to the acute care, tertiary paediatric environment.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, (including negotiation and conflict resolution skills) and proven success in multidisciplinary team settings.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with an ability to work flexibly within clinical and administrative service demands.
- Experience leading clinical teams including workload management and staff and student supervision and training.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in service delivery improvement activities and/or research
