About the role
Operating within our Customer Experience team and reporting directly to the Senior Communications Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and growing Independence Australia’s social media influence.
You will build brand awareness, craft engaging multi-channel content, and foster meaningful connections with our online community to amplify our social enterprise mission.
This is a permanent, full-time position with flexibility and occasional travel required across sites to support organizational events and campaigns.
What you will do
- Content Creation: Develop and publish engaging multimedia content (images, videos, thought leadership, infographics) across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube aligned with our brand voice and purpose.
- Social Media Strategy: Design and implement dynamic social media strategies and manage content calendars that keep our messaging on track, on brand, and aligned with broader marketing goals.
- Platform Management: Monitor and optimize social profiles daily, responding to comments, messages, and mentions to foster genuine community engagement and protect and develop our brand reputation.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key metrics (engagement, reach, conversions, follower growth) using analytics tools to generate actionable insights and refine strategies.
- Community Engagement & Collaboration: Build meaningful relationships with online communities while collaborating closely with internal service and marketing teams to coordinate impactful campaigns.
About you
You will be a creative, collaborative, and data-informed digital storyteller with a strong background in social media management and a passion for driving positive social impact.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience managing social media content and channels in a corporate or agency setting.
- Technical & Platform Skills: Demonstrated proficiency managing Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, with experience using scheduling tools and social analytics platforms.
- Communication & Strategy: Outstanding copywriting and content creation skills with the ability to adapt tone across platforms, alongside an up-to-date knowledge of algorithms and digital trends.
- Key Requirements: Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC), Police Check, and an Australian Driver’s Licence.
