ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re a quality-first butcher shop in Gwynneville (2/4 Murphys Avenue) with a reputation built on provenance, craft, and a window display that turns heads. We’re looking for a qualified butcher who takes pride in the front counter — someone who can set a window that sells before the doors open and hit the ground running on retail prep.
You’ll be in at 6am, which means you set the tone for the day. No customer service pressure, no closing, no weekend commitments. Just skilled work in a proper butcher shop with quality product.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Set and rotate the window display daily — clean, correctly merchandised, and commercially sharp
- Break down primals and prepare retail cuts across beef, lamb, and pork
- Tray, portion, label, and ensure the cabinet is stocked and presentable before opening
- Maintain a clean, compliant workspace in line with food safety standards
- Work independently at opening with minimal supervision
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) or equivalent trade qualification
- Demonstrated window dressing and display merchandising experience — non-negotiable
- Solid retail prep skills across beef, lamb, and pork
- Reliable, self-directed, and comfortable leading the opening shift
- Genuine pride in your craft and presentation standards
WHAT YOU GET
- Consistent Monday–Friday hours — no weekends, no late nights
- A genuine butcher shop environment with high-quality, provenance-driven product
- Competitive hourly rate + super, paid weekly
- A small, professional team that knows its trade
