As an Advanced Trainee in Geriatric Medicine, you will provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in geriatric medical practice, in a complex clinical environment.
Rotations are available in acute, subacute and community geriatric medicine as well as perioperative medicine. There is an expectation that you will rotate through St George, Calvary, Sutherland Hospitals and St George and Kareena Private Hospitals. The precise duties will vary according to rotation.

St George Hospital is a major tertiary and principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales, with 627 beds and a reputation for clinical excellence. You will be rotating among different hospitals within the network, including Calvary Hospital, Sutherland Hospital and 2 private hospitals, all within 10km distance from St. George Hospital.

- MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Completion of at least four postgraduate years and successful completion of the examination requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent, and be eligible to undertake subspecialty training in Geriatric Medicine in Australia.
- Demonstrated commitment to training in Geriatric Medicine and previous experience in Aged Care Medicine
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a supervised clinical environment using excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
- Good time management and organisational skills, and advanced computing skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self education as well as a willingness to teach and support junior medical staff
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement patient safety and risk management
