About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.
The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, families and communities. We welcome applicants with a range of skills and experience who are passionate about supporting children and families to thrive.
The Safe Wayz Program works with children under 10 displaying problematic or harmful sexual behaviours (PHSBs), alongside their families and support networks. Grounded in a strengths-based, family-focused and culturally responsive approach, Safe Wayz aims to strengthen safety, wellbeing, healing and connection.
As a Safe Wayz Clinician, you will coordinate access to specialist therapeutic supports, maintain a small clinical caseload, and work alongside families, schools, community members and other services to support early intervention and positive outcomes. The role also involves consultation, education, training and partnership-building to strengthen community understanding and responses to PHSBs.
The Safe Wayz team includes Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clinicians working together to support children and families. The Aboriginal Safe Wayz Clinician will play an important role in strengthening connections with Aboriginal communities and providing cultural consultation to support culturally safe practice across the service.
You will be part of a supportive team with access to professional development, peer support, statewide specialist networks, and cultural and clinical supervision.
