Position: Chef
Employment: Full-Time
Salary: $80,000 – $95,000 + superannuation, depending on skills and experience
Hearth & Graze Cafe / Restaurant / Bar is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our professional kitchen team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
- Following recipes, menu specifications and presentation standards
- Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner service
- Assisting with menu planning and development
- Managing food preparation and cooking across different sections of the kitchen
- Ensuring food quality, portion control and presentation are maintained
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering
- Minimising food wastage and maintaining cost control
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen
- Working effectively as part of a professional kitchen team
- Assisting with busy service periods, including weekends and public holidays
About You
The successful applicant will have:
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications and/or relevant industry experience
- Proven experience as a Chef in a busy cafe, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for kitchen operations
- High attention to detail and commitment to food quality
- Availability to work a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays
