JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Description:
This role will be responsible for the management, design, and development of projects to conserve, adapt and activate National Trust of WA heritage places. A particular focus will be to prepare briefs, tenders, select, and appoint contractors for agreed priority projects.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
1. Contributes to the strategic direction of the Place and Landscapes Directorate.
2. Ensures priorities and processes are aligned with the National Trust of Western Australia’s strategy, objectives, and operational requirements.
3. Provides high-level strategic advice on the planning, approvals, design development, procurement, and delivery of projects within the portfolio.
4. Prepares and contributes to Board papers, business cases, and other key project documentation.
5. Fosters an open, collaborative, and communicative working environment, engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve coordinated outcomes.
6. Promotes and embeds a strong culture of safety within the workplace, and across all project activities.
7. Ensures project records are accurately maintained and provided in a format suitable for integration into record management systems.
8. Leads and coordinates the development and end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, including planning, approvals, design development, procurement, and execution.
9. Engages with internal and external project stakeholders to ensure collaborative effective delivery of designated projects.
10. Develops and manages project budgets, monitors financial performance, and manages expenditure and payments within delegated authority.
11. Monitors and reports on project performance against approved budget and schedule baselines.
12. Provides advice on procurement strategies and leads tender development processes in accordance with National Trust and State Government procurement guidelines.
13. Prepares scopes of work to inform consultant briefs and requests for quotation.
14. Responds to tender queries, evaluates submissions, and provides selection recommendations.
15. Undertakes contract management and administration, including monitoring contractor performance and ensuring deliverables are achieved in accordance with contractual requirements.
