Work that matters, done with people who care.
Help keep Blacktown’s parks, reserves and open spaces clean, safe and well maintained as the city grows.
As a Parks and Gardens Worker in the Greenspace Services team, you maintain parks, sports fields, gardens, nature strips and other public open spaces. You mow, edge, plant, prune, water garden beds, control weeds and collect litter. You operate equipment such as mowers, whipper snippers and edgers, carry out daily checks and maintenance on plant and equipment, and complete work to agreed standards and schedules.
Working closely with your Team Leader and crew, you help present Council-owned facilities and community assets to a high standard. You identify and report hazards, follow safety procedures, complete required records and forms, and carry out tasks efficiently and professionally. The work is physical, outdoors and varied, with visible results in the places residents use every day.
At Blacktown City Council, you work with people who take pride in doing the job properly. We support your development through ongoing training, opportunities to build new skills and gain additional qualifications, and pathways to grow your career.
This role suits someone who enjoys outdoor work, values teamwork and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes for the community.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,248.18 per week
- a 38-hour working week
- a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
