Tuggeranong Veterinary Hospital is a highly regarded practice, serving Canberra for over 30 years. At Tuggeranong Veterinary Hospital, we promote the joy of pet ownership and cultivate long term client relationships that are based on a high standard of care. We are a progressive and busy hospital, growing by word of mouth with a large team comprising of Veterinarians, Nurses, Animal Attendants and Administrative Staff.
The practice is open to the public six days a week (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm and Saturdays 8am to 3pm).
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an entry level position into the veterinary care industry. This is a part-time position working 30 hours per fortnight Monday-Friday. These hours are made up of 5x 3-hour shifts per week with shift times anywhere between 7am – 7pm, depending on rosters.
Key responsibilities:
- Cleaning the animal wards, cages, and general parts of the hospital

Laundering of animal bedding, towels and drapes

Walking dogs and general small animal husbandry.

Where required, under assistant veterinary nursing duties, including animal restraint for vets and nurses, autoclaving surgical instruments, gowns and drapery and putting surgical kits together.

Assist nurses and vets with in-house laboratory and pathology where required.
