Assistant Shop Manager / Sales Administrator

About Us:
Trailer Repair Centre is a busy one stop trailer repair, service and sales centre in Braeside. We have a unique shop front offering a wide range of trailer parts and equipment for boat trailers, commercial trailers and domestic trailers. We have a full-service centre that services and repairs boat trailers and other commercial trailers, alongside selling new Dunbier and Mackay boat trailers. We are now looking to the future and are looking for someone to ultimately run our retail showroom.
The Role
As a key member of our sales team, you’ll be a dual-focus contributor - driving sales growth while providing high-quality sales administration and customer service support. Our retail shop front sees you dealing directly over the counter with retail customers and the role also incorporates looking after the showroom on a day-to-day basis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to inbound consumer and dealer enquiries via phone, email and in person
- Generating quotes and processing orders (internet) using internal systems
-Supporting sales initiatives and campaigns online (contributing ideas is a bonus)
-Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
-Assisting with trailer scheduling and stocking, inventory management and parts dispatch
-Maintaining accurate sales and customer records
-Providing administrative assistance to the workshop
-Booking in and follow up of all service appointments
-Working collaboratively with internal departments (manager, workshop manager and assistant manager)
-Complete registrations of all new boat trailers
-Maintaining our showroom stock levels and appearance at the highest level of standard
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Enthusiastic, proactive and customer-focused
- Well organised with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal)
- Comfortable handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- A strong team player with a positive attitude
- Has a passion for the marine and outdoor industry or retail sales.
- Ideally have mechanical / automotive parts knowledge - mechanical aptitude is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrate previous retail or trade experience, including sales, wholesale, and/or workshop operations experience
- Have flexible availability and hold a valid Australian driver's license
- Comfortable with moving and towing trailers
- Have the physical capacity to perform the duties of the role (including handling products of a heavy nature)
Must-have Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a sales and/or admin role (preferably in retail, wholesale, marine, automotive or related industries)
- A strong technical/mechanical background
- Strong computer skills (MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
