The opportunity & how you will make an impact:
This is an opportunity to lead and enhance health, safety and environmental performance across our Asset Management business.
As the HSE Manager, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing and continuously improving health, safety and environmental systems, policies and practices across a diverse asset portfolio. You'll support operational leaders in embedding a proactive safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Your work will directly contribute to safer workplaces, stronger operational performance, environmental sustainability outcomes and the wellbeing of employees, contractors, tenants and customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement and continuously improve WHS systems, policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with WHS/OHS legislation, codes of practice and company standards
- Lead workplace risk assessments, hazard identification and mitigation strategies
- Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews across managed assets
- Coordinate incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions
- Maintain emergency management procedures, evacuation plans and crisis response protocols
- Support environmental sustainability initiatives and compliance obligations
- Monitor environmental risks including waste management, hazardous substances and pollution control
- Deliver HSE training programs, toolbox talks and safety awareness initiatives
- Drive a positive safety culture through engagement, communication and leadership
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation, reporting and compliance registers
- Liaise with regulators, auditors, insurers and external stakeholders as required
- Partner with operational leaders to embed accountability and operational best practice
About you:
- A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in a Health, Safety & Environment management role
- Strong knowledge of WHS/OHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience conducting investigations, audits and risk assessments
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to influence behavioural and cultural change
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience within property, facilities, asset management or related industries will be highly regarded
