About the Role
We're currently hiring Support Workers in and around South West Sydney who are ready to bring heart, energy and reliability to the lives of people with disability.
We are particularly looking for confident and experienced Support Workers who are comfortable supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern.
You may be supporting participants who require a calm, consistent and structured approach, particularly during periods of emotional dysregulation, heightened behaviours or challenging situations. You will need to be able to remain composed, follow Behaviour Support Plans and risk management strategies, maintain professional boundaries and respond appropriately while prioritising the safety, dignity and wellbeing of the participant and those around them.

As an ARYSE Support Worker, you’ll work directly with participants in their homes and local communities. Every day is different, and every interaction matters.
Shifts include:
- Mix of morning, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts
- We encourage you to share your availability when applying
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Supporting participants with personal care, mealtime assistance, mobility and everyday routines
- Supporting participants with complex needs and behaviours of concern
- Following Behaviour Support Plans, care plans, risk assessments and established support strategies
- Using proactive strategies to support emotional regulation and reduce escalation
- Remaining calm, professional and responsive during challenging situations
- Assisting with community access including shopping, appointments, social events, beach walks and coffee catchups
- Helping participants build life skills and achieve their NDIS goals
- Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
- Completing accurate and detailed shift notes and incident reports where required
- Using our digital systems, including Brevity
- Working collaboratively with families, Behaviour Support Practitioners, allied health professionals and the wider ARYSE team
Who You Are:
- Experienced in disability, community care or a similar support environment
- Confident supporting participants who may display behaviours of concern
- Able to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in high-pressure situations
- Understand positive behaviour support and person-centred approaches
- Comfortable following Behaviour Support Plans and established strategies
- Understand how to support people with dignity, patience and respect
- Confident with personal care and domestic duties
- Have a good understanding of NDIS principles and participant rights
- Can adapt to changing needs and remain calm under pressure
- Work well independently and thrive in a people-first team
- Bring heart, humour and responsibility to everything you do
Mandatory Requirements, or willingness to obtain:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- NSW Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- COVID-19 Vaccination, where required under applicable health guidelines
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module and Infection Control Training
- Working With Children Check
Desirable But Not Essential:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
- Experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern or complex behaviours
- Positive Behaviour Support experience
- Mental health experience
- Manual handling experience
- Personal care experience
- Experience working with participants requiring higher levels of supervision or support
