About the role:
Federation Council is seeking an organised Facilities Officer to join our Environment, Facilities & Regulations team in Corowa. In this role, you will assist the Facilities Team with day to day operations and proactive building maintenance across Council's portfolio. You will play a key role in auditing facilities, ensuring legislative compliance, supporting sustainability initiatives, and delivering community focused outcomes.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Building Maintenance & Planning: Conduct regular facility inspections and condition audits, record findings using asset management software, and assist in developing data driven capital works, cost estimates, and renewal programs.
Facility Operations: Implement streamlined facility hire and booking procedures, manage security and key/fob access systems, and support site sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
Safety & Compliance: Assess facilities against statutory compliance (including fire safety, emergency evacuations, and accessibility), draft site-specific emergency plans, and document safety risks.
Contract & Service Review: Review programmed maintenance schedules and service agreements to ensure high service standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Deliver high-quality customer service, respond to customer requests in line with Council's charter, and build strong relationships with internal teams and community stakeholders.
Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications
Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in facility or asset management.
Ability to conduct facility inspections to inform future maintenance and capital renewal programs.
Solid understanding of legislative requirements relevant to facility management (e.g., fire safety, emergency evacuations, accessibility).
Strong time management skills with the proven ability to meet schedules and tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to share information and solve problems collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with asset management software or databases.
General Induction for Construction Works accreditation (White Card) or equivalent.
A current and valid Class "C" driver's licence

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $48.45 per hour with progression up to $53.48 per hour dependent upon skills and experience.
