- Maintain parks, sportsgrounds and community facilities through mowing, brush cutting, vegetation maintenance, weeding, rubbish removal and general grounds maintenance.
- Operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment, including mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws and tractors.
- Install, maintain and inspect park infrastructure and facilities, including sportsground amenities, to help keep them safe and well presented.
- Identify and report hazards, damage and maintenance issues, and assist with routine inspections of parks and facilities.
- Work as part of a team to deliver planned maintenance activities and respond to community needs.
- Follow safe work practices and provide friendly and professional service when interacting with community members and stakeholders.
- Experience maintaining parks, sportsgrounds, open spaces or community facilities.
- Experience operating plant and equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws or tractors.
- A positive attitude, good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- An understanding of safe work practices and the ability to identify and manage workplace hazards.
- A current Tasmanian driver’s licence.
- A National Police Check Certificate (dated within 6 months) provided to council prior to commencement.
- White Card, Chemical Handling certification, Traffic Control or Horticulture qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Base salary between $63,498.27 and $69,671.37 (depending on skills and experience) + 13% superannuation. In July 2026, the base salary will increase by 5.1% and the superannuation will increase to 13.5%.
