GCB Doors & Windows is a locally owned family business supplying custom windows, doors and screens across South East Queensland. We’re a friendly, growing team looking for a practical and dependable person who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in doing things carefully. This is a varied role where your work will genuinely help customer orders move smoothly from our warehouse through to completion.
We welcome applications from experienced warehouse assistants as well as capable juniors or school leavers who are keen to learn. Experience is helpful, but reliability, care and practical ability are most important.
The role
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assembling aluminium flyscreens
- Installing timber reveals neatly and professionally
- Using basic hand and power tools
- Measuring and checking products accurately
- Allocating windows, doors and screens to the correct customer orders
- Applying customer, job and barcode labels accurately
- Photographing products and recording their warehouse locations
- Checking products for damage, quantities and correct specifications
- Preparing completed items for customer collection or delivery
- Contacting customers to coordinate collections and deliveries once trained
- Updating the team when orders are allocated, completed or dispatched
- Keeping the warehouse safe, organised and easy to work in
- Supporting deliveries occasionally when our regular driver is unavailable
Our warehouse handles custom and high-value window and door packages, so products must be handled carefully and accurately at all times.
About you
You will be well suited to this role if you:
- Are good with your hands and enjoy practical work
- Take pride in producing a neat, professional finish
- Are reliable, punctual and follow tasks through
- Can accurately use a tape measure
- Are comfortable using basic hand and power tools
- Pay attention to labels, measurements and customer details
- Ask questions when unsure rather than guessing
- Handle customer products with care
- Are comfortable using a phone or tablet for barcodes, photographs and order updates
- Communicate respectfully with customers and team members
- Are physically capable of safely assisting with bulky windows and doors
- Can work independently once trained
A current manual driver licence and safe driving record are preferred, as you may occasionally support deliveries. However, delivery driving is not the primary focus of the position.
Previous warehouse, assembly, carpentry, glazing, flyscreen, building-product or trade-assistant experience would be highly regarded. We are also happy to train a capable junior with the right attitude and practical ability.
