Our Essilor team in Edwardstown is looking for an Optical Mechanic/Worker with experience in Optical Edging, Fitting, QC and Optical Tinting. With a total focus on providing our customers with the best possible experience we are looking for a confident and dedicated person who is committed to producing quality products - first time, every time!
We are looking for a reliable, detail-focused team member to join our Optical Production team based in Edwardstown, Adelaide. If you enjoy working with your hands, following structured processes, and take pride in producing high-quality work, this role could be a great fit. Experience in optics is not required, but it will be highly regarded.
As part of our Production team, you will be trained to manufacture prescription lenses using specialised equipment and established processes. Your work plays an important role in delivering quality products, ensuring customer satisfaction, and meeting delivery timeframes. This is a hands-on role in a clean, structured manufacturing environment where accuracy, consistency, and teamwork are valued.

Your Responsibilities
- Marking up and blocking optical lenses
- Edging of optical lenses
- Fitting variety of lens types such as rimless, nylon, shell and metal frames
- Tinting
- Checking work quality and identifying defects or inconsistencies early
- Pre Quality Control and tracing a variety of frame types

- Fine motor skills and ability to handle individual lenses carefully throughout the coating process
- Highly organised with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and pride in doing things properly
- Comfort with repetitive tasks and structured processes
- Ability to follow instructions and SOPs consistently
- Willingness to learn new technical skills and take feedback onboard
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Computer literacy and ability to record information accurately
