The main duties and responsibilities of a Tax Accountant at Burwood Accounting Services include the following:
- Prepare and lodge individual, company, trust, partnership and self-managed superannuation (SMSF) income tax returns in accordance with Australian taxation legislation and ATO requirements.
- Analyse clients’ financial records, accounting data, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and appropriate tax treatment for year-end reporting and taxation purposes.
- Prepare financial statements including Profit and Loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow/fund statements to support taxation reporting and business compliance obligations.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statement (IAS) with statutory lodgements deadlines in compliance with ATO regulations.
- Assessed taxation implications relating to capital gains events, including shares, cryptocurrencies, investment properties, and other CGT assets, and prepare capital gains tax schedules accordingly.
- Prepare taxation depreciation schedules and rental property assessments, including calculation of capital works deductions and depreciating asset claims for investment properties.
- Assist clients with tax planning, cost analysis, and budget variance analysis to support effective financial management and taxation outcomes.
- Prepare SMSF taxation and compliance documentation, including investment property reporting, share investment records, capital gains calculation, and annual fund reporting requirements.
- Implemented and maintained accounting system using MYOB and Xero software to support accurate bookkeeping, taxation reporting, and financial record management.
- Assisted clients with government and statutory support applications, including Service NSW grants, ensuring compliance with eligibility and reporting requirements.
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
