Manager Insights & Analytics
This strategic leadership role is responsible for leading the central insights & analytics function and building enterprise capability that supports high-quality decision-making across the organisation. This role will lead the production of trusted reporting, dashboards, models and insights, while partnering across the business to strengthen analytics standards, governance and member outcome monitoring.
About the role:
- Lead and grow the Insights & Analytics function as a strategic decision-support capability and centre of excellence.
- Provide leadership, coaching and development to the Insights & Analytics team, promoting collaboration, curiosity, accountability and knowledge sharing.
- Support Executive, Board and senior management decision-making through clear, reliable and actionable insights.
- Set direction, operating rhythm and priorities aligned to organisational strategy, business planning, SPS 515 obligations and member outcome objectives.
- Own the production, validation, release, maintenance and retirement of enterprise analytics assets, including reports, dashboards, scorecards, models, calculators and thematic insights.
- Define, embed and monitor analytics production standards, quality controls, documentation, peer review, UAT, release approvals and version control.
- Lead the development of predictive and prescriptive insights, decision models, scenario analysis, forecasting tools and member outcome monitoring assets.
- Act as the senior entry point for enterprise insights, reporting, analytics, research and modelling requests.
- Partner with business units to clarify decision questions, intended use, audience, access requirements and measures of success.
- Establish standards, methods, templates, reusable assets, coaching and support for analysts across a federated data model.
- Work closely with Data Engineering and Data Governance to improve data usability, analytics production controls and reporting reliability.
What we're looking for:
- Significant senior-level experience leading an analytics function that supports strategic, commercial, operational and member outcome decision-making.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing analytics teams.
- Strong experience designing or operating quality control frameworks for reporting, dashboards, models or analytics information assets.
- Strong understanding of business intelligence, data visualisation, reporting design, data governance, data quality and system integration.
- Experience working within a federated data model and partnering effectively with Data Engineering, Data Governance and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee decision models, forecasting tools, scenario analysis, sensitivity testing and AI-assisted analytical methods.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and communicate insights, assumptions, limitations, risks and recommendations clearly.
- Experience preparing Executive and Board-level reporting.
- Strong commercial judgement, analytical reasoning and the ability to frame problems before producing outputs.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in data science, analytics, information systems, business or a related discipline, or equivalent functional leadership experience.
- Knowledge of superannuation, financial services, member analytics, segmentation, customer data platforms or campaign effectiveness will be highly regarded.
- Postgraduate qualifications, leadership development or relevant professional certifications in Power BI, Databricks, Azure data, data governance or model risk will also be well regarded.
