Liberty Industrial is seeking experienced Oxy Cutters to join our team on a 3/1 FIFO roster supporting a major industrial demolition and closure project in Gove, NT.
This is a hands-on role working within a high-performing crew on a complex industrial site. We are looking for people who are practical, safety focused and comfortable working in demanding project environments. Description:
As an Oxy Cutter, you will be responsible for supporting demolition and dismantling activities across site while maintaining safe and productive work practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oxy cutting of structural steel, pipework, conveyors and industrial assets
- Performing drop cuts, lift cuts and controlled structural separation works
- Supporting demolition and dismantling activities across industrial environments
- Assisting crews with manual labour and ground-based activities as required
- Following SWMS, permits, Take 5s and site safety procedures
- Working closely with Supervisors, Operators and project teams to complete works safely and efficiently
- Conducting pre-starts and ensuring tools/equipment are maintained and fit for purpose
- Contributing to a strong safety culture on site
Skills and Experiences:
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Minimum 2+ years oxy cutting experience within demolition, shutdown, industrial, construction, mining or heavy industry environments
- Experience with structural steel cutting, demolition works or industrial dismantling
- Ability to read and follow site instructions, permits and SWMS
- White Card (mandatory)
- Working at Heights and Confined Space (desirable)
- EWP, HRWL, dogging, rigging or forklift tickets (advantageous)
- Strong safety focus and willingness to work as part of a team
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments and outside in varying conditions
- Willingness to assist with labouring and ground support activities when required
- FIFO experience highly regarded
